How to Set Up an IPP Sample Type for Results Import

This setup explains how to set up an IPP sample type so results get imported from Kester SQL server IPP views.

1. Create a Sample Type as normal procedure in IPP site

2. IPP Site

  1. Make sure IPP site is selected.
  2. Enter the Kester SQL Server View name exactly as it appears into the "IPP View" field.
  3. Enter "Paste" or "TSF" into "IPP Database" field depending on which Kester SQL server database is being used:
    1. Paste: DB_Paste_Blending
    2. TSF: DB_TSF
  4. Use Report Template: IPP_Standard_Report.rpt

If you don’t want the test results to be imported into WINLIMS, don’t setup the IPP view or IPP Database for the product. Just enter a regular sample type.

3. KES Site

  1. Make sure KES site is selected.
  2. Search for the Bulk Code (Sample Type) that will need IPP results imported.
  3. Reversion or unapprove the sample type (bulk code).
  4. Enter the exact same IPP view name used in IPP site into the "IPP bulk code" .
  5. Approve sample type.
  6. Search for next Bulk Code that will need same IPP view or another IPP view and repeat steps 2 to 5.

Every 30 min winLIMS checks all KES newly imported JDE work orders. If the Item code (SampleType) from these orders is associated with an IPP View, winLIMS will create an IPP sample automatically.

Results import process runs every 3 minutes from 1AM-11:59PM CT Daily. Refer to "Importing Results for IPP Samples".
