How to Set Up Automated Customer Samples in WHC
This setup explains how to set up the daily automated customer samples in WHC. By doing so, each time a generic sample (customer ID is empty) is approved, winLIMS will look for the sample type under the "Bulk Code" column in the Projects table and if there are any "Customer Numbers" found, then a new customer sample will be automatically created for each of the customer numbers.
1. Create Customer Specific Sample Type.
2. Open "Projects" under the <Sample Life Cycle> menu:
You may see more or less menu items as shown in the screenshot depending on the role that you are assigned too. If the "Projects" submenu is not shown, contact your winLIMS administrator.
3. This Projects screen has the bulk codes that are to have auto-samples created when a generic sample is approved.
Every morning a process is ran to pickup up all generic samples that need to have a customer sample created.
For the example shown above, when a generic sample for 209111 (1) is approved, winLIMS will create on the next day a customer sample for each of the customer numbers (2) listed here. It will create a pdf COA and will create and XML if it is required (3).
4. To create a new entry in the Project table:
All required fields are highlighted in yellow.
- Enter customer number.
- Enter Customer initial.
- Enter customer part number (Market Synonym).
- Select bulk code (only bulk codes already set for customer number from 1 are shown).
- Select No for PDF only. Select Yes for PDF and XML.
