How to Perform Password Recovery

Password recovery can be performed when password is forgotten.  Account becomes locked after 3 failed attempts to sign in.  Perform steps for password recovery before the account becomes locked.  When the account is locked, contact system administrator to first unlock your account, then perform steps outlined in this tutorial.  

1. Initiate "Password Recovery"

  1. Click on the "Password Recovery" link right below the "Log In" button
  2. Type in User Name
  3. Click "Submit"
  4. Answer Security Question
  5. Click "Submit"

2. Locate Recovery Email

Password recovery email will be sent from: "[email protected]" do not reply to this email, as it goes to an unmonitored mailbox.  If unable to locate the email, check your spam/junk folder, then contact system administrator.

  1. Open LIMS Password Recovery Email
  2. Highlight the password and right click to open the menu (can also click CTRL+C to copy the highlighted text)
  3. Press Copy

3. Sign Into LIMS

  1. Type in Username
  2. Click into password text box
  3. Right click on the mouse and click "Paste" (Can also press CTRL+V on keyboard)
  4. Uncheck the "Keep me logged in" checkbox (since this is only a temporary password)
  5. Click "Log In".
