Order Manager Overview

Order manager is a new concept used in LIMS V8 to help organize all samples under a single lot into distinct group called an order. Orders are unique to a lot number. Anytime you have multiple samples which have the same lot number, those samples will be part of one order. The use of this module helps the user review how the particular lot was distributed to customers, or what samples are logged under that particular lot.

  1. Click the main menu button
  2. Navigate to "Sample Life Cycle"
  3. Click on "Orders"

2. Order Menu

  1. Click "Add New" to create a new Order
  2. Click "browse Orders" to search for a particular order using a list as a search result
  3. Click "Orders QBE" to search for particular order using drill down order view as a search result

3. Order Manager

 

  1. Scroll Bars: Used to navigate through multiple records
  2. Navigate Button: Navigates to a list of orders most helpful when searching through multiple records
  3. Save button: Press to save changes to the order
  4. Paste Button: Allows to paste elements into the text cells
  5. Duplicate Order Button: Has multiple options to duplicate the order
  6. Attachments Button: If any attachments need to be uploaded on the order level they can be added or reviewed here
  7. Export to excel button: Exports order level data into an excel format

 

3.1. Top Section

Top section of Order Manager Screen contains identifying information relevant to the bulk code of this lot number. An important detail is that a lot number might be manufactured under one bulk and later regraded (reclassified) into a different bulk, the order manager will contain information using the original bulk code under which the lot was manufactured.

The Status of the Order is automatically updated based on the status of all the individual samples in this order. Once all the samples are updated with a "Final Status" the order will also have a final status.

3.2. Order Others Section

  1. Click arrow down to expand section

Contains additional information relevant to original bulk of this lot number.

3.3. Orders Samples Section

Contains information on all samples associated with this order.  All samples that have the same lot number.

4. Orders Samples

4.1. Section Controls

  1. Refresh Grid: If you change the setting of how many samples to display in the grid, press refresh to see the list of samples
  2. Add New: Use to add a new sample, cannot be used when the order status is final
  3. Save Changes: Whenever any changes are made to the cells in the grid, press button to capture
  4. Delete Samples: To delete a samples its status must be "P". Select checkbox to the left of the sample ID of the samples you'd like to delete and then press the delete button
  5. Receive Samples: Sites that use LIMS for tracking lab turnaround time, can receive samples by selecting the checkbox next to the sample ID of the samples you'd like to receive then press the receive button
  6. Duplicate Sample: Select the checkbox next to the sample ID of the sample you'd like to duplicate then press the duplicate button
  7. Drill Down: To open details of the sample, select the check box next to the sample ID of the samples you'd like to drill down to details for and then press the drill down button
  8. Cross Tab: To open samples in a cross tab view, select the check box next to the sample ID of the samples you'd like to see in the cross tab, then press the cross tab button.

4.2. Section Grid

This section contains high level information on the samples associated with the order.  Scroll left to see what customers the lot was distributed to.  

In powder manufacturing this section will contain all the subclass samples for the powder lot
