How to Recover My Password
Your WinLIMS system password is encrypted in the authentication database and cannot be seen or recovered by a System Administrator. This lesson shows you how to retrieve a temporary password for your account and use it to make a new one.
Click "Password Recovery" on the WinLIMS Login Screen
Enter your User Name in the box when prompted
Click Submit
Answer Your Security Question
Click Submit
The System will Email a Temporary Password to you
Highlight the text, right-click, and copy the temporary password
Return to the WinLIMS login screen in your web browser
- Enter Your Login Name
- Right Click and Paste your Password
Login with your Temporary Password
Click "Log In"
Open "My Profile"
Locate the "My Password" section of the page
Right Click and select Paste to Paste your Temporary Password into the "Password" box
Choose a New Password, and enter it twice
- Your Password must be 7 characters long and must contain at least one (1) non-alpha-numeric character/symbol (an exclamation point is an example of a special character)
- Click Save
You Password Has Been Successfully Changed
