Regrading a Sample
Finding the appropriate sample
Click on Find Sample - located under Sample Manager
Searching by Lot#
Enter the Lot# to search for a particular sample. In this example, we will use lot# 11207049SP.
Alternatively, you can also search for a sample using Bulk Code (in this example 152843) , or Sample ID number (in this example 201112050028)
Launching the Update Sample View
1. Click on Sample ID number to access the update sample view.
2. If there is no sample available, you can manually enter the sample into the system using manual sample login - you will need to enter the bulk code, lot number and Manufacturing date manually in this case. After you do this, hit the save icon, to bring you to the sample update screen with the sample you just manually entered. Normally, this new sample will not require a regrade.
Reviewing the sample
1. On the sample update screen, click the expand arrows by results. You can see in this example that the parameters are incomplete compared to the spec sheet.
2. The sample type has already been modifed, so this pre-existing sample needs to be regraded in order to incorporate the changes.
Regrading the sample
1. Hover your mouse over the multiple sheet button. This will activate a drop down menu.
2. Select "Create Regrade Sample"
Selecting the Correct Sample Type (Bulk Code)
1. In the Resulting pup-up window, enter the Bulk Code of this product, to ensure that the new sample will pull from the latest version of the correct sample type.
2. Click the Binoculars. This will search the database for the correct bulk code.
3. Hit the "Select" button on the sample type that results from your search.
Re-entering the Lot Number
In the resuilting Pup up window, enter the lot number of this sample, to ensure that the correct lot# gets regraded. Hit the save Button.
CC List from Current Sample
In this pop-up window, click yes if you would like to transfer any data that you have already inputed into the current sample to the new regrade sample.
This will prevent you from having to re-enter the data into the system.
The Regraded Sample
You have created a Regraded sample. Note how it has the correct parameters and updated specifications.
You can now enter data into this sample, and approve it to generate your CofA.
Verify That the Old Sample Has been set to "Rg" status
To ensure that the old sample was put into "RG" or Regraded status, search for the lot number ( 11207049SP ) on the find Sample screen.
There should now be two samples with the same lot number, and the older one will say Sample Stuts = "Rg"
The new sample will read the status of your sample as normal. In this tutorial, no data was entered by, so it is still in "N" status.
