Entering New Raw Materials into WinLIMS
Receiving in JDE
First, Log into JDE to process the order number.
Enter 11 in the selection box to goto the Receiving section.
Next, go to the "Enter Purchase Receipt" section by Entering 2 in the selection criteria.
Entering the Purchase Receipt
Enter in the Order number and the Receipt date into JDE. Press Enter.
This will pull up the information about the item that you have ordered. Enter "1" to recieve the Item.
This will trigger the logging in of the Raw Material in WinLIMS. You can only enter data for a raw material after it has been recieved properly in JDE.
Find Sample in WinLIMS
After you have logged the sample into JDE please log into WinLims.
1. go to the Find sample section, under the "Sample Manager" heading.
2. Enter the lot number of the raw material that you have just recieved into the search box.
3. Press the "Sherlock" button to search for the lot number.
1. Click on the Checkbox to next to the sample that you want to enter data for. Note that the sample is in "N" status, meaning that data has not been entered into it yet.
2. Hit the Magnifying Glass icon to open the sample up for data entry.
Verify the Sample
1. Verify that all the information is correct in the top section.
2. Click on the "Results" section to expand the parameters for data entry.
Entering the Data from Supplier COA
In the Data entry fields, enter the data as shown on the Supplier COA.
If the Boxes turn green, that indicates that the Raw Material passes incoming specifications. If the Boxes turn Red, notify the QC Supervisor, so that he/she can inspect the raw material, the Raw materials codebook, and the winLIMS specification/Limits and contact the supplier if needed
Once the data has been entered, hit the "Save" icon in the results section (as shown by the arrow).
Note that the Sample Status is now "V" for "Verified"
The data has been entered properly. This will casue the sample to appear on the QC Supervisor's list of samples for approval. Once the sample is inspected by the QC Supervisor, he/she can approve it. Once the sample is approved, it will be usable as a raw material for production of batches.
