Single Sample Approval

This tutorial goes into detail on  how to approve existing samples in LIMS.  Follow tutorial “How to Search for Samples" in order to find and open your sample.

1.0   Results Review

  1. Review Spec Status and SPC Status.  When both of these are Pass that means that sample is ready for approval.
  2. When any of these are failed then expand the results section to determine the issue

Intermediate sample status is assigned in this field automatically throughout the process, however the final status is assigned by a supervisor.

Intermediate Sample Status Key:

N - New Sample: Sample has been entered into LIMS via interface, but not yet received into QC lab (status only applicable to sites using JDE interface)

P - Pending Results: Sample is received into the Lab but no results have been entered (or sample is manually logged in without any results entered)

B - Partial Results have been logged in

C - All Results have been logged in

V - All Results have been logged in and are Validated against the specs

Final Sample Status Key:

A - Approved (generates CoA)

I - Approved for Internal Use Only (does not generate CoA)

F - Failed (does not generate CoA)

Additional Customer Status Key:

Rw - Reworked

Rj - Rejected

X - Canceled

  1. Click on the thumbs up button to approve
  2. Assigned appropriate status
  3. Click on "Save" to save changes
  4. Note that status changed to "A"
  5. Refresh the page to see the CoA link
  6. CoA link appears on the right side of the page.  Click to open
