Running the Universal I-Chart SPC Macro

Automatically extract all product data for a specified bulk code into Minitab and Create SPC Charts.

Choose a Folder on your Computer and Click Save

You will need to remember where you saved this file later in order to run the macro

Keep it simple like c:\SPC

Open the Minitab Application

Open the Minitab Application

Click on the "Editor" menu and click "Enable Commands"

The "Enable Commands" option will only show up in the Editor menu, while you have the "Session" window active.

Locate the Command Prompt Displayed in the Session Window

Type the "cd" command as shown below to navigate to the folder where you saved the macro

Press Enter

You can copy and Paste your local folder location from the Address Bar in Windows Explorer

You can use the "Dir" command in the Session Window to make sure you have changed to the right Folder

  1. Type "dir" and then press enter at the command prompt "MTB >"
  2. The Session window will display the current folder/directory and then show the folders contents

Execute the Desired Macro

Type the % sign followed by the Macro Name and press Enter

The Macro may take a while to run and will display the command prompt again when completed

Worksheets Containing the Downloaded data as well as all of the Charts are Loaded in the Background

SPC Limits are dynamically calculated for the last n=25 data points.

If Fixed Limits are entered into the WinLIMS system, the macro will default to using those limits instead.
