Creating Customer Specific SampleType w/Details

This feature allows us to include customer specific specifications, part numbers or special text that might need to be included on the customer's CoA.  For more information or training please contact the LIMS administrator.

1. Create Customer Specific SampleType

Prior to creating a customer specific sampletype, ensure that the generic sampletype contains all the parameters necessary.  If customer specific sampletype needs additional parameters that are not required for generic, you must still add them to generic and set the print flag to "0".  The methods and parameter attached to generic and customer specific sampletypes must be identical.

Navigate to the correct bulk code.

  1. Click on button to create customer specific sampletype.
  2. Click radio button for "Customer Spec"
  3. Type in Customer's Ship-To Number
  4. Click binoculars to search
  5. Click "Select" to select customer profile

2. Verify New SampleType Info

Screen will automatically refresh to the customer specific sampletype that was created.  

Note the following:

  1. Status should be in "N" New
  2. Customer# field should be filled out with your customers Ship-To Number

3. Define Customer Specific Information

Omit this step if customer does not require Customer Notes on the CoA

  1. Put in customer's name into the "Customer Code" field.  This will make searching easier in the future
  2. Type in any special "Customer Notes"
  3. Click Save

4. Define Customer Part Specific Information

Omit this step if customer does not require Customer Specific Part number on the CoA

  1. Expand Market Synonyms Section (In LIMS packaging codes are called "Market_Synonyms"
  2. Set-up part number specific information for the correct packaging code/Market_Synonym, scroll far to the right
  3. Type in Specification Number in column called "TEXT1" (This column might be renamed to "Customer Specification#"
  4. Type in Customer Specific Part number in column called "Customer Part #"
  5. Press Save

5. Approve the Sample Type

Click thumbs up to approve customer specific sampletype
