How to Add Cpro Test Method Name and Link
For sites that manage analytical test methods in C-pro, LIMS "document link" feature is used to allow a user quick single click access to the procedure (log-in to Cpro also required). This tutorial explains how to properly configure this feature for new sampletypes, or revise current data where necessary.
1. Revise or Create New Sample Type
When document test method name or link needs to be revised follow tutorial: "Sample Type Revision" to properly revise the sample type. When implementing a new sampletype follow tutorial: "Creating a New Sample Type-Item Interface" or "Creating a New Sample Type-Manual" to create the sample type.
2. Parameters and Limits Section
This section is only editable when status does not equal A or O
- Input a short note into the comments section describing the reason for revision
- Expand the "parameters and limits" section
3. Define C-Pro Controlling Number (Document Name)
- Type in the controlling number from C-pro associated with this analytical procedure. Do not include the revision number.
- Even if the text box seems too small the entire controlling number will be saved into the database.
4. Locate STM Link
When locating Cpro link, do not copy and paste the link from the address bar. The link in the address bar will navigate to this exact procedure, and when revisions are done in the future link will not redirect to latest revision.
- In Cpro, navigate to and open the procedure
- Click on paper clip button to get the link that will automatically redirect you to the latest revision of this procedure
- Text field in the pop-up will contain the link which is selected by default
- Right click on your mouse and click copy
- Right click in the LIMS STM Link column text box for the appropriate parameter and paste link
- Save data in the parameter and limits section
5. Approve Sample Type
- After all changes are applied, approve the sample type.
6. Test Doc Link
- After approval you will see text "View Doc" has appeared next to the STM Link Column. You can click on this link and it will navigate to C-pro
- Cpro requires that users log in prior to navigating to the document
- After loggin in, you will be navigated directly to the test method.
When links are set-up correctly you will be redirected to the latest verson of the document automatically.
