Putting an Approved Method on Hold.

This tutorial goes through the steps needed to put a method on hold.  When a method becomes revised, old method is automatically change to status "O" which means it's obsolete and cannot be used in LIMS.  Sometimes methods should not be used either because they have become obsolete or need review.  To prevent usage of these methods they need to be put on hold.

1. Locate the method

1.  Hover cursor over "Administration"

2.  Hover cursor over "Method"

3.  Click on "update"

1.  Type in the name of the test method

2.  Press binocular to search for this test method.

2. Put Method on Hold

As shown on the image above this method is approved and ready to use.

Press on the "X" button to unapprove this method

2.1. Confirm

Press "OK" to confirm

3. Review

3.0  Review

Review change.

Method status is "H" which means the method is on hold.  You can search for this method and see it used in historical records, but you cannot add this method to new sampletypes.
