WinLIMS Admin Step in Change Management MFD
Sample MFD
This is an example of a Change Management MFD from North America, and can be used as an example to integrate winlims into the MFD process in Tianjin.
In this example, the MFD was created to "Change a Product Quality Control Requirement" for the product "Microfab NF Acid"
MFD Info
Here, in the Information section of the MFD, it lists details such as product name, Bulk/Part Number and Manufacturing Location. It also includes a short description of the changes that this MFD will be making to the product.
Spec Changes.
Here, since this is a change in QC requirement MFD, it includes a table for adding external and internal parameters. THis table can also be used to update specifications for existing parameters or remove parameters that are no longer needed.
This particular MFD, only adds internal testing methods, however the WinLIMS process for adding internal and external process is virtually identical.
Quality Control Section
Scrolling down to the Quality Control section, we see that there are test methods that are attached to the Parameters. You can also take note of the Specifications of these metals - a max of 10 mg/L
This tells QC and WinLIMS what test methods to be attached to each parameter, so that it is easy to analyze in the lab.
Opening the Sampletype in LIMS
Taking the QC step information, the WInLIMS admin can edit the sampletype or template of the product. He/She uses the product code to pull up the template and can make changes.
The specifics on how to make changes to the sampletype will be covered in the "Updateing Sampletype" tutoral.
Sampletype Parameters
To the administrator, This is what the Sample types parameters look like. He will need to add Al, and Ca to the sampletype in order to complete his step in the MFD.
Updated Parameters
After the changes are made, the sampletype parameter table will looks something like this.
As you can see, the "Microfab Internal Metals" of Al and Ca have been added to the sampletypye template and have limits as specified in the MFD.
Once the changes are made, the Admin will make a note in WinLIMS that signifies that the changes have been added.
Also, the version control table will keep track of the latest version of this product and the date and time it was created.
WinLIMS Admin Section of MFD
After the changes are made, the winLIMS admin can signify that Winlims has been updated, and enter the bulk code he has changed. (1)
There is also a seciton to attach the new spec sheet that can be auto-generated from the latest specs in the LIMS database (2)
Comments can be added if neccessary. (3)
The MFD system keeps track of when the sampletype was approved (4).
Contact your MFD or Lotus Notes Admin to have this setup in your MFD workflow.
