How to Search in Company Manager

There are two ways to perform search in V8 LIMS:

  • Browse data using a smart search
  • Search by utilizing QBE (Query-by-Example)

This tutorial will demonstrate both searches as used in Company Manager

2. Menu Navigation

Following Step 1, click on "browse Companies".  List of companies sorted by Customer # will show.  There are two options to search in this view.

  1. Type in search description into the smart search text box
  2. Press Binoculars

2.2. Detailed Search Criteria

  1. Click on "down arrow"
  2. Define detailed search criteria like Customer #, Company, ABCD Code, Sales Division, Sales Region by typing directly into the  cells
  3. Press Binoculars after search criteria is defined

Blue textbox labels are lookup links.  Click to conduct a search instead of typing in a value from memory or having to look it up.  For the category fields like: ABCD Code, Sales Division and Sales Region you will be able to see options applicable to all records.

3. Companies QBE - Search Option 2

  1. Following Step 1, click on "Companies QBE".  Blank Companies Manager View will show, where any of the fields can be used as search criteria.
  2. After populating at least one field click on binoculars  to search
  3. Use buttons to scroll through multiple records
