How to Deactivate an Obsolete Company Profile
When a ship-to location is closed, associated Company Profile must be deactivated. This will keep LIMS data up to date and prevent users from logging samples against obsoleted company profiles.
To assign a new ship-to number for an existing Company Profile contact LIMS administrator
1. Navigate to Company Profile
Using tutorial "How to Search in Company Manager" Navigate to the appropriate company Profile
2. Deactivate Company Profile Record
- Uncheck the "Active Record" Checkbox
- Save Changes
When the "Active Record" checkbox is unchecked this record will not be searchable when creating a new order record, this means no samples will be logged for this customer. This record will remain in the system and can searched for in the Customer Manager view.
3. Deleting Company Profile Record
Company Profiles should not be deleted instead de-activated. In a case when you MUST delete a company record please contact LIMS administrator.
Many reports that pull TAT or Yearly metrics data have a link between company profile and sample record. When company records are deleted the historical samples cannot link to deleted company records and reports do not work, or omit those samples which results in lost data.
