How to Search in Method Manager

There are two ways to perform search in V8 LIMS:

  • Browse data using a smart search
  • Search by utilizing QBE (Query-by-Example)

This tutorial will demonstrate both searches in Method Manager

2. Browse Methods - Search Option 1

Following Step 1, click on "browse Methods".  List of most recently approved methods will show.  There are two options to search in this view.

  1. Type in search criteria into the smart search text box (search criteria example: Method Name, Description)
  2. Press Binoculars

2.2. Detailed Search Criteria

  1. Click on "down arrow"
  2. Directly type-in search criteria into any of these fields.  When clicking into the text field a lookup drop down will show that will decrease options as you continue to type in your criteria.
  3. When you see your criteria in the drop down, click to select it
  4. Press Binoculars after search criteria is defined to find matching record

Blue textbox labels are lookup links.  Click to conduct a search instead of typing in a value from memory or having to look it up.  Or use the Look-up light function and start typing to narrow down the list.

3. Method QBE - Search Option 2

  1. Following Step 1, Click on "Method QBE".  Blank Method View will show, where any of the fields can be used as search criteria.
  2. After populating at least one field click on binoculars to search
  3. Use buttons to scroll through multiple records
