How to Create a New Tank

A "Tank" is a representation for a customer's bath/tank/vessel containing the chemistry represented by customer sample.  A Tank is required to be set-up prior to entering a sample record into LIMS.  Tanks are customer and process specific.

  1. Click to open Menu
  2. Click on "Static Data"
  3. Click on "Customer Tanks"
  4. Click on "Add New"

2. Define Key Information

Cells Highlighted in Yellow must be populated prior to clicking the "Save" button.  Key Information includes: Customer #, Tank ID, and Process Code.  

Customer # and Process Code are lookup fields, while Tank ID is text.  

2.1. Customer #

  1. To populate lookup field click on the label of the text field in this case "Customer #"
  2. Select search by criteria
  3. Start typing
  4. Click on select next to matching record

Company Name field is automatically populated with company name after Customer # field is defined.

2.2. Tank ID

Type in Tank ID as defined by the customer.

2.3. Process Code

  1. To populate lookup field click on the label of the text field in this case "Process Code"
  2. Select search by criteria
  3. Start typing
  4. Click on select next to matching record

2.4. Saving Record

After Defining Customer#, Tank ID and Process Code the record can be saved.  

3. Define Additional Information

  1. Type in "Line Name" if available from customer
  2. Type in "Volume" of the tank
  3. Type in "Units" that are applicable to the tanks volume
  4. Type in "Description" if available

When tank volume and units are defined information will also appear on the customer report.

4. Define Site Owner(s)

  1. Click to open "Owner" Tree
  2. Check to select all applicable owners for this tank record
  3. Press Select
  4. Save Change

5. Activate Tank Record

  1. Click "ACTIVE" checkbox to activate tank record
  2. Click "save" button to capture all the changes

If the "ACTIVE" checkbox is not selected then the tank is considered in-active and it will not show in drop down when entering customer's sample record.
